چکیده

Recently, Kyriakos et al. proposed a Partially Materialized Digest scheme (PMD). Their scheme uses separate indexes for the data and the verification information to realize the authenticity and completeness verification in outsourced database. In this paper, we analyze PMD and show the drawbacks in PMD such as the slow update, the collusion and forgery attacks, and no content access control etc. In order to overcome these defects, the idea of designated verifier signature is introduced into query verification, and a secure, efficient query verification scheme for dynamic outsourced databases is proposed based on PMD. The analysis of security and performance shows that the proposed scheme has not only the same advantages with PMD, but also prevents the collusion and forgery attacks as well as enforces content access control. Furthermore, the update speed of the proposed scheme is faster than PMD, the storage cast of the proposed is lower than PMD.

Towards Efficient Verifiable SQL Query for Outsourced Dynamic Databases in Cloud

With the rising trend of outsourcing databases to the cloud, it is important to allow clients to securely verify that their queries on the outsourced databases are correctly executed by the cloud. Existing solutions on this issue either suffer from a high communication cost, or introduce too much computational cost on the client side. Besides, so far only four types of SQL queries (i.e., select...

A Novel Solution to Query Assurance Verification for Dynamic Outsourced XML Databases

Database outsourcing model is emerging as an important new trend beside the “application-as-aservice” model. In this model, since a service provider is typically not fully trusted, security and privacy of outsourced data are significant issues. These problems are referred to as data confidentiality, user privacy, data privacy, and query assurance. Among them, query assurance takes a crucial rol...

Access Control Friendly Query Verification for Outsourced Data Publishing

Outsourced data publishing is a promising approach to achieve higher distribution efficiency, greater data survivability, and lower management cost. In outsourced data publishing (sometimes referred to as third-party publishing), a data owner gives the content of databases to multiple publishers which answer queries sent by clients. In many cases, the trustworthiness of the publishers cannot be...

Tell me the truth: Practically public authentication for outsourced databases with multi-user modification

With the advent of cloud computing, outsourcing databases to remote cloud servers provide the elastic, flexible and affordable dat a management services f or the Internet users. The cloud users can create, store, access and update the remote outsourced databases just as they are using the database system locally. However, unlike storing data in a fullycontrolled local database, storing data in ...

Super-Efficient Verification of Dynamic Outsourced Databases

We develop new algorithmic and cryptographic techniques for authenticating the results of queries over databases that are outsourced to an untrusted responder. We depart from previous approaches by considering super-efficient answer verification, where answers to queries are validated in time asymptotically less that the time spent to produce them and using lightweight cryptographic operations....
